Before Harvey's, Heman had owned a business open 24 hours a day. He was looking to get out of the hectic always open business and into something more practical for him and his family operational wise. He loved the product (and the operating hours!) and decided to inquire.
He knew he could not have done it without patience, passion, and what he jokes as a marriage to the brand.
Heman fondly quotes opening his new location in 2012 as among "the most wonderful things that happened to [him]."
Before Harvey's, the brothers had owned a small chain of independent restaurants. What brought them to Harvey's was their love of the product, the brand and the idea that someone could help them with the marketing to grow their business.
Their experience in the restaurant industry gave them a big head start as franchisees. Nick quotes that one "must know how to delegate, but you got to roll up your own sleeves too!"
Nick's fondest memory with Harvey's and with CARA was walking into Restaurant Support Centre to sign the final documents and seeing their names on the big screen. Although CARA is a big company, CARA always puts franchisees first.
