Before CARA, Kevin travelled the world working for a Fortune 500 company, and was often away from his family and his home. After hearing about some corporate conversions, Kevin immediately got started on the franchising process. He craved the freedom that came from owning a business, and wanted to get out of the corporate environment.
Kevin knew that if he took care of the people that work for him, they would in turn take care of their guests and create a fun and inviting environment.
His favourite memory was seeing the new renovation at the Gloucester Montana's - he recollects how employees would help clean on their own time because it wasn't just Montana's - it was their Montana's!
Dianne had been a registered nurse for 25 years until her business partner saw an ad for a Montana's franchise opportunity in the paper. They had always been guests at Montana's Cookhouse and loved the atmosphere and the food. They decided to submit their application, and next thing they knew they owned their very own restaurant.
Dianne recalls her favourite memory fondly. A neighbouring family had a son who was undergoing cancer treatment and was able to be let out of the hospital for only two hours at a time. He decided to spend those two hours with his family at Montana's. Dianne's manager made an early reservation and ensured they all had a fantastic experience.
Before Montana's, Shawn and Rose had been involved in many sports organizations and through diligent research realized that the opportunity for growth with CARA had been available in their city. Throughout the entire franchising process, the Roys always felt welcomed and like part of the Montana's family. However, nothing comes easy and Shawn and Rose knew that the hard work and long hours would pay off with a great work environment and an even greater restaurant environment.
As avid sports fans, their best memories involve a Montreal Canadien Alumni team coming in for lunch one afternoon. Players Guy Lafleur, Steve Penny and Stephane Richer not only enjoyed a great meal, but also took the time to take pictures with other guests. They also played host to the NHL Alumni Game After Party where guests got to meet Marty McSorley, Matthew Barnaby, Troy Crowder and Walter Gretzky.
